First, let us determine the difference between rebuilding and precision remanufacturing.

When a press/folder is rebuilt, standard procedure is to visually inspect it for wear and breakage. Those components that fail are replaced, while the remaining components are cleaned and re-installed. In other words, they fix what is broken and hope everything else is okay.

When a press/folder is remanufactured, it goes through an entirely different process. The units/folders are completely disassembled, down to the side frames. All out of tolerance bores are match-bored, and power honed to tightly controlled sizes and surface finish specifications. All eccentrics and bearings are assembled for the truest fit possible.
